10155 Gregory Mitchell moving into Panet House as the E.D.
5440 Tony Goode, President of the RMC Club is exceptionally pleased to announce that 10155 Greg Mitchell (Class of 1974) has been hired as the Executive Director to replace 13987 Bryan Bailey who will be leaving the organization 1 March.
His 36 years serving in the Canadian Armed Forces started at RMC in 1970. By fourth year he was the Cadet Wing Commander.
The Peterborough, ON native has impressive credentials. In addition to his RMC – Bachelor of Arts -Field Of Study Honours English and Philosophy; he also holds a Queen’s University Degree – Masters of Public Administration – Field Of Study Defence Studies.
The retired Brigadier-General’s career with the Canadian Forces comprised national and international executive leadership positions of increasing complexity. He worked and trained extensively within multinational settings in the USA, Europe, the Middle East and Africa with the UN, the African Union and NATO, and is a veteran of four UN peacekeeping operations. His final military posting was to Denmark where he commanded the Multinational Stand-by High Readiness Brigade for United Nations Operations (SHIRBRIG).
Out of uniform, he assisted the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre in developing an international Senior Management Course, and taught leadership, ethics, critical thinking, the profession of arms, component capabilities, domestic operations, counter-insurgency, counter-terrorism, and peacekeeping to Majors and Lieutenant-Colonels within a distance-learning, graduate level program on behalf of the Canadian Forces College.
The Club President has also expressed his most sincere thanks to 9143 Bruce McAlpine, 5611 Gerry Stowe, and 18167 Kathy Litalien for their efforts as members of the Selection Committee.
Greg will conduct a handover with Bryan on 27 February and assume responsibilities formally on March 2nd.
