Successful Remembrance Dinner: OCdts & several Ex Cadets participated

Once again the Ste Anne’s Veterans Hospital Foundation in conjunction with the Beaconsfield Golf Club in Pointe Claire Quebec held its annual remembrance dinner. One hundred and fifty guests both military and civilian contributed over $16,000 to the Foundation.

Several senior officers in the region and officer cadets from Royal Military College Saint-Jean participated. The guest speaker was Raymond Chrétien former Canadian Ambassador in Washington. Prior to the moment of silence Dick Irving a hockey icon and Andrew Carter a Montreal radio personality read Major John McCrae’s poem “In Flanders fields…” Some had tears in their eyes.

The Foundation and the Golf Club plan to continue this annual event to raise funds for a very worthy cause.
